Deploying a Strategy
How to deploy a backtested strategy to live markets.
Deploying a strategy takes it from backtesting to real-time execution. Before deploying, make sure your strategy has been thoroughly tested and you've connected your broker.
Pre-Deployment Checklist
- Strategy has been backtested on at least 2 years of data
- Backtest results show consistent profitability with acceptable drawdown
- Strategy has been tested on out-of-sample data
- Broker account is connected and verified
- You've set appropriate risk limits for live trading
- You understand the strategy's expected behavior and risk profile
Deployment Steps
- 1Open your strategy and click Deploy to Live
- 2Select your connected broker account
- 3Configure position sizing for live trading (start smaller than backtest size)
- 4Set maximum daily loss limits and maximum position count
- 5Review the deployment summary showing strategy rules and risk settings
- 6Activate the strategy
Start with position sizes 50-75% smaller than your backtest configuration. Increase gradually as you gain confidence in live performance.
